knowledge. Besides, since skills are interrelated, people may link what they have learnt together and draw inspiration from the specific skill they newly possess, no matter it is music, drawing or dancing.
All in all, people who try to acquire more than one skills are more likely to become successful than people who just focus on one skill since people with many skills have more opportunities and tend to be more knowledgeable and creative. As a result, in my view, people possessing more than one skill have a better chance to achieve success in life.
2. Do you agree or disagree with following statement? The government and the corporation should share all their scientific discoveries with other countries in the world? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
The advance of technology makes a great number of countries better off and thus governments tend to keep their own scientific breakthroughs to themselves. It is because they believe that sharing will make them lose the competitive edge on the international stage and leave them no better than others. However, from my perspective, it is actually beneficial to share scientific findings with others.
To begin with, it is unlikely for the countries with scientific breakthroughs to survive alone. For example, environmental issues have affected most areas throughout the world, which makes the air, water, soil and so on seriously contaminated. If a country which has discovered a great way to restore the environment decides to keep it to itself, it may take a long time before other countries with similar issues could come up with their own plans. In this case, though the country with scientific findings could improve the quality of their own environment, people from this country still cannot avoid health damages caused by air or water pollution, since air or water pollution don’t really respect borders between countries.
Moreover, sharing ideas produces more inspirations. For instance, the country which realizes that children can learn better through some physical activities could only make use of some simple activities, such as opening the door, standing up, etc. And the country which could come up with beautiful stories could only employ the interesting story as a text for children to read sentence by sentence. However, when combining the two ideas, educators may find out that they can actually assign roles and ask children to act in a drama which involves beautiful stories and physical activities and which should be a much better way of teaching than simple activities or studying stories.
Furthermore, information-sharing can help countries save money. When a country prefers to keep a scientific discovery to itself, it intends to collect extra money from the unique advanced product. It seems lucrative, but this country may potentially lose money in the trades with other countries which are having the same consideration, as the products from other countries may turn out to be much more expensive. However, if countries agree to share their discoveries, the price of the products from all countries will be significantly lowered, which means no country will have to spend a large amount of unnecessary money on any products.
Since sharing scientific breakthroughs can help people survive, can help countries to make more discoveries and can help them save money. It is definitely beneficial to share ideas with other countries.
